Thursday September 30: The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America is hosting a free virtual conference at 10am that will provide information about Alzheimer’s, brain health, caregiving, care planning, support services and more. This is open to everyone. Visit www.alzfdn.org/tour
Friday October 1 & Saturday October 2: “Rummage Sale” at the Fairfax Community Center—sponsored by the United Church of Fairfax. Open from 3pm to 7pm Friday and 9am to 2pm Saturday.
Friday October 1 & Saturday October 2: “Fall Rummage Sale” at St. Mary’s Parish in St. Albans, VT—sponsored by the Catholic Daughters. Open 8:30am to 6pm Friday and from 8:30am to 3pm on Saturday.
Friday October 1 & Saturday October 2: The Southern Adirondack Musicians (SAM) is sponsoring a “Music Festival” at the Roaming Rock Ranch Resort, 2206 State Street, Route 9N in Lake George from 4pm to 11pm on Friday and 1pm to midnight on Saturday. Profits support working musicians and families that have fallen on hard times. There is a 50/50 raffle. The event is free.
Saturday October 2 starting at 11:30am: “Bingo” at the All Saints Parish in Richford. Doors open at 11:30am and the games begin at 1pm
Saturday October 2 starting at 9:30am: The Clinton County Historical Association and town of Clinton historian Rebecca LeClair are hosting a cemetery tour visiting 3 cemeteries throughout Clinton County with lunch at Dick’s Country Store. Monday October 4: The Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors is hosting a charity golf tournament at the Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington to raise money for Spectrum Youth and Family Services. Tuesday October 5 starting at 6:30pm: “Bingo” at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction—to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. It takes place on the 2nd floor of the Miller North Building.
Thursday October 7 from 8am-to-Noon: The annual “Celebration of Women in Business” presented by the North Country Chamber of Commerce is in person this year at the West Side Ballroom in Plattsburgh. Saturday October 9 starting at 5pm: The Bakersfield Historical Society is holding their annual “Chicken Pie Supper” at 80 East Bakersfield Road with take-out only from 5pm until all are served. The dinners will be delivered to your vehicle. The cost is $10.
Saturday October 9 & Sunday October 10: “Harvest Weekend” at the Babbie Rural Farm & Learning Museum in Peru, NY. Bring lunch and enjoy the picnic area. Learn more at www.babbiemuseum.org
Sunday October 10 at 1pm: Join the New England Ram Club as they gather with cars, trucks and motorcycles at the White River VA Hospital for a ride through Southern Vermont to raise awareness and funds for the Josh Pollata Fund and Suicide Prevention.. There will also be a vigil to remember those we’ve lost. Entry is $10.
Wednesday October 13 through Friday October 15: The Swanton Village Fire Auxiliary is bringing back its awesome “Haunted Drive-Thru” from 7pm to 10pm each evening at Franklin County Field Days. Volunteers as actors, traffic coordinators and helping with set up and tear down are needed. Message their Facebook page if you are interested.
