Sam Boudreau from St. Albans:
Roses are red, violets are blue,
we get up in the dawn to the bitter smell of black brew.
I gaze upon the portrait of a crazed, bedhead view:
a framed Picasso, your eyes’ cerulean hue.
How lucky I am to love the morning parts of you.
Tim Lebeau from Essex:
Roses are Red, Violets are blue
It had been 26yrs since I heard from you
I lived my life with something missing
It came to me that day we were kissing
There’s no doubt or debate
I was missing my soulmate
Now my life is full and complete
because I’m with you my love my sweet
John Bartlett from Milton:
Roses Are Red, Violets are Blue,
Glad COVID isolation meant more time with you!
Covering our faces, not a fun task.
But you’re still hot even wearing a mask!
Even with your nose stuffed with a long swab,
Valentine you make my heart throb!
Christie Mitchell from Milton:
Roses are Red, Violets are blue,
This is corny, let’s start anew
We met in a bar, drank way too much
Romance, true love, or maybe lust
Forward 4 years it became real, put a ring on it & sealed the deal
We made it work thru thick & thin, ask me today I’d do it again
Dawn Thurston from Swanton:
Roses are red, Violets are blue,
single on Valentine’s Day with nothing to do
I’d call a friend who’s in the same boat
And ask her to join me in this happy note.
Who needs a man when a friend will do
Who takes you as you are and appreciates what you do!!!
Laura Weber from Essex Junction:
Roses are Red, Violets are blue
Daffodils, yellow-And sunflowers too.
Daisies are cute, And lilac’s smell sweet
You were the one I was happy to meet
Colorful gardens, white clouds, and the sun-
Springtime is colorful, muddy, and fun!
