A new book titled, THE COMPLETE JOHNNY CASH: Lyrics from A Lifetime of Songwriting, will be published on October 14th. The 720-page book is priced at $60, and will feature a collection of “every lyric Johnny Cash wrote,” along with personal writings, diary entries, and 38 never-before-seen handwritten lyrics and poems, including “A Man Should Try” and “Everything’s Alright.” A foreword to the expansive collection is written by the country music legend’s son, John Carter Cash, with added commentary throughout the book provided by Mark Stielper, offering a comprehensive look into the iconic songwriter’s work. Cash, who died in 2003, recently received the honor of becoming the first musician to have a statue in the U.S. Capitol’s National Statuary Hall Collection. 2024 also saw the release of Cash’s posthumous album, Songwriter, the 72nd studio album from the 13-time Grammy winner.
